The power play of the elements in Iceland is on

Moss covered landscape after few Fjallabak kilometers. 24.07.2018

The every summer returning tours Kräftespiel der Elemente, translated power play of the elements are ongoing. And I have to admit I’m very pleased about it. This is a really nice, adventurous and manifold trip over 10 days plus one day off in Reykjavik, where the tour starts. First we visit a part of the Golden Circle, Geysir and Gullfoss, drive on to the South Coast with the famous waterfalls Seljalands- and Skogafoss and the breathtaking black beaches of Vik. The world of Vatnajökull with the unforgettable Glacierlagoon Jökulsarlon is the most eastern point as we drive up North in two exciting days through the highlands. Probably the most attractive track leads through the colorful landscape, on mountains and into valleys though Fjallabak to Landmannalaugar. The next day Sprengisandur is waiting, the longest and hardest highland road F26! This tour we were very lucky even there was not much sunshine but we saw the glaciers and later Trölladyngia, a giant shield volcano spreading a lot of lava its area. Finally you reach the ringroad at Godafoss waterfall. What a release after many shaking kilometers but how crowdy it can be here (cruise ship) after many hours of lonesomeness. The following days we have a good look at the Myvatn area and Akureyri, enjoy the Snaefellnes peninsula and check out Thingvellir before returning to Reykjavik. It’s really a power play of the elements, throughout the tour we check out EARTH and we do this in Iceland’s clean AIR, the volcanoes and overlefts of eruptions are standing for the FIRE, in VIk and Snaefellsnes we are in touch with the sea, but the WATER is everywhere to find, the most impressive places are the waterfalls!

The next tour starts the August 11th (guide Marianne, Best of Iceland) and the trips 2019 are soon opening for bookings. This is a German guided tour of Island ProTravel but of course you can get the same in English as a private tour or with a group you are bringing. It’s worth to check out the power play of the elements in Iceland. You need a good 4×4 vehicle and an experienced driver(guide). Best Travel can provide both. Interested? info@besttravel.is.
