Whale watching by jeep

Normally whale watching tours are done by boats but it can happen you see suddenly a whale from shore. Yesterday we got a special experience. Many boats were fishing in sunshine just few meters outside Keflavik. It looked they catched a lot of mackarel and we decided to have a look at it from Helguvik harbour. There were already many people angling and got mackarel after mackarel in a short time. But there were not just fishing boats and anglers, there was even a whale inside the harbour are swimming around and enjoying the very good food situation. It was very close to the shore and didn’t take notice of boats and people at all. But we took notice of this spectacular view to have a humpback whale directly in front of us. As the situation is now, we could probably easily offering whale watching by jeep or one of our vehicles. Please find more informations in German, pictures and a video posted by Best of Iceland.
