When coming from the East up North we had to travel through the storm hitting Iceland. But we made it slowly but safely. But we got another two interesting days, yesterday with a nice stop at Godafoss waterfall and visiting Siglufjördur and the fantastic Herring Museum. Mother of pearl clouds or polar stratospheric clouds are a rare and beautiful phenomena. 03.02.2018
Best Travel is on the first circle around Iceland in 2018 and got a fantastic day in East Iceland today. While the Western part of Iceland was once more hit by storm we were very happy to travel through sunshine from Höfn to Faskrudsfjördur. There were beautiful views where ever we had a look at. A real day to enjoy but this wasn’t enough. When it started to get dark we saw beautiful clouds on the sky with special colors. No wonder we aren’t used to this picture, those clouds are a very rare phenomena in Iceland. They are called “mother of pearl clouds” or by the scientists “polar stratospheric clouds” or nacreos clouds. Continue Reading →

A picture of all three vehicles beside each other is seldom to take. Mostly one, two or all three are on tour. It was little bit less busy for Best Travel in January and it was a chance to have a proper look at every car, do some little reparations and bring them to the annual inspection. Wonderful moment at icy Golden Waterfall Gullfoss. 01.01.2018
The start into the new year couldn’t have been better. Best Travel and Best of Iceland offered the traditional New Year’s Day tour Golden Circle Deluxe in a small group on Mantra. While picking up people at the hotels concert hall Harpa was lighted up with 2018. When arriving Thingvellir Nationalpark around midday the sun lighted up the lake and the landscape.
