Geysir has many faces

Erupting Strokkur, the little brother of Geysir. Eggert 14.12.2016

Best Travel is often on Golden Circle tour. It’s amazing to see how different the steamy area and Geysirs little brother Strokkur are looking between seasons, other weather and light conditions. Of course it’s especially nice to be there just with very few tourists. Continue Reading →

The Yule Lads are coming

Yule Lad in TV. The real ones are now coming out from their cave. 20.12.2015

Annually before Christmas, exactly the 12th of December the Icelandic Yule Lads start to come out of their cave in the highlands where they live with her ugly and ogress mother Gryla and the lazy father Leppaludi. The Yule Lads are 13 brothers, every one with a special character. They are all out the 24th of December, but the 25th the first starts to go back to Gryla. The 6th of January the Yule Lads are all home. Exactly now is the time you can meet them! A big chance is up North in Dimmuborgir where they have party time. Continue Reading →

It’s every time interesting to have a look into the huge selection of collected things by Thordur Tomasson. About 15’000 folk craft artifacts are presented in three buildings and six turfhouses. The historical buildings outside create a nice scenery. The famous and 60 meters high Skogafoss is just around the corner. Continue Reading →
